A COLD FRONT LOCATED THROUGH SOUTHEAST TEXAS...NORTHWEST LOUISIANA...AND
CENTRAL ARKANSAS THIS MORNING...WILL PUSH SLOWLY EAST TODAY AND TONIGHT
ACROSS THE MISSISSIPPI VALLEY. A STRONG SOUTHERLY FLOW AHEAD OF THE
FRONT WILL PROVIDE AN ABUNDANCE OF GULF MOISTURE TO THE REGION. THE
ATMOSPHERE AHEAD OF THE FRONT IS RATHER UNSTABLE AND THUNDERSTORMS WILL
CONTINUE TO DEVELOP AND SPREAD EAST...AHEAD OF THE FRONT. THUNDERSTORMS
WILL REACH SOUTHEAST ARKANSAS AND NORTHEAST LOUISIANA BY EARLY AFTERNOON
AND WILL REACH WESTERN MISSISSIPPI BY LATE AFTERNOON. AS THE COLD FRONT
PUSHES FARTHER EAST...THUNDERSTORMS WILL SPREAD INTO EASTERN PORTIONS OF
MISSISSIPPI DURING THE NIGHT.

WIDESPREAD SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS ARE NOT EXPECTED THROUGH TONIGHT AS
UPPER LEVEL WINDS ARE NOT FAVORABLE FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF SEVERE
THUNDERSTORMS. HOWEVER...DUE TO THE MODERATELY STRONG INSTABILITY OF
THE ATMOSPHERE...A FEW THUNDERSTORMS MAY BECOME BRIEFLY SEVERE...
WITH THE MAIN THREAT BEING HIGH WINDS.

ACTIVATION OF STORM SPOTTERS...HAM RADIO OPERATORS AND EMERGENCY
MANAGEMENT PERSONNEL WILL NOT BE REQUIRED TODAY OR TONIGHT.
