* FLASH FLOOD WARNING FOR...
  SOUTHERN MECKLENBURG COUNTY IN NORTH CAROLINA

* UNTIL 1240 PM EDT

* AT 838 AM... LOCAL MEDIA REPORTED THUNDERSTORMS WITH VERY HEAVY
  RAIN SOUTHEAST OF CHARLOTTE...MOVING SLOWLY EAST. THESE
  THUNDERSTORMS HAD PRODUCED OVER THREE INCHES OF RAINFALL IN
  SEVERAL HOURS.

* MCALPINE CREEK WAS OUT OF ITS BANKS...AND SEVEREAL ROADS WERE
  REPORTED TO BE FLOODED.

REMEMBER THAT MOST FLOOD FATALITIES ARE THE RESULT OF DRIVING INTO
FLOODED STR&EETS...ROADS...OR STREAMS...OR OCCUR WHEN CHILDREN PLAY
IN OR NEAR STORM DRAINS OR STREAMS.
