TONIGHT ACROSS THE NORTHWEST PARTS OF NORTH TEXAS GENERALLY
NORTHWEST OF A LINE FROM  PARIS TO SULPHUR SPRINGS TO DALLAS TO
GRANBURY TO LAMPASAS.  THIS INCLUDES THE CITIES OF SHERMAN...PARIS...
GAINESVILLE...BOWIE...THE DALLAS/FORT WORTH METROPLEX...MINERAL
WELLS...BRECKENRIDGE...EASTLAND...AND COMANCHE.

LATE THIS AFTERNOON A DRY LINE EXTENDED ACROSS NORTHWEST TEXAS FROM
JUST SOUTHWEST OF WICHITA FALLS TO EAST OF MIDLAND.  STRONG
AFTERNOON HEATING HAS RESULTED IN THE MID LEVEL CAPPING INVERSION
ACROSS WESTERN PARTS OF NORTH TEXAS BEING BROKEN...AND
THUNDERSTORMS HAVE DEVELOPED RAPIDLY BETWEEN WICHITA FALLS AND
LUBBOCK.  DUE TO THE HIGH MOISTURE CONTENT EAST OF THE DRY LINE...
STRONG VERTICAL WIND SHEAR...AND MODERATELY STRONG MID LEVEL
WINDS...THESE STORMS ARE EXPECTED TO QUICKLY BECOME SEVERE AND
SPREAD EASTWARD INTO NORTHWEST PARTS OF NORTH TEXAS THIS AFTERNOON
AND EVENING.

SOME OF THESE STORMS WILL BECOME SUPERCELLS PRODUCING LARGE HAIL...
HIGH STRAIGHT LINE WINDS AND A FEW TORNADOES.  A TORNADO WATCH IS
ALREADY IN EFFECT GENERALLY WEST OF A LINE FROM GAINESVILLE TO
STEPHENVILLE UNTIL 900 PM.  EMERGENCY MANAGERS IN THE WATCH AREA MAY

GUSTY SOUTHERLY WINDS OF 15 TO 25 MPH CAN BE EXPECTED TO CONTINUE
TONIGHT IN THE WESTERN TWO THIRDS OF NORTH TEXAS.  CAUTION ON AREA
LAKES WILL NEED TO BE EXERCISED.
