THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN GRAND FORKS HAS ISSUED A

* FLASH FLOOD WARNING FOR...
  NELSON COUNTY IN NORTHEASTERN NORTH DAKOTA

* UNTIL 430 PM CDT

* AT 115 PM CDT DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED VERY HEAVY RAINFALL ACROSS
  NORTHERN NELSON COUNTY NEAR LAKOTA AND MICHIGAN...OR ABOUT 50 MILES
  WEST OF GRAND FORKS.  SO FAR...SINCE 7 AM THIS MORNING 1.00 INCH
  OF RAIN HAS FALLEN AT LAKOTA.  SOILS ARE ALREADY SATURATED...WITH
  STANDING WATER IN MANY LOCATIONS.  IN ADDITION DOPPLER RADAR
  INDICATES A BAND OF HEAVY RAIN IS EXPECTED TO MOVE INTO NELSON
  COUNTY FROM THE NORTHWEST.  THE HEAVEST RAIN AT 115 PM WAS LOCATED
  NEAR WEBSTER.

* THIS MORNING/S HEAVY RAINFALL IN ADDITION TO THE EXPECTED HEAVY
  PRECIPITATION THROUGH THIS AFTERNOON IS EXPECTED TO WORSEN THE
  FLOODING SITUATION AT LAKE LARETTA NEAR MICHIGAN.  RESIDENTS OF
  MICHIGAN NEED TO REMAIN ALERT TO THIS DEVELOPING FLOODING
  SITUATION.  ANOTHER 1 INCH OF RAIN IS LIKELY THROUGH EARLY THIS
  EVENING.

IF FLASH FLOODING IS OBSERVED...MOVE QUICKLY TO ESCAPE FLOOD
WAhTERS. DO NOT STAY IN AREAS SUBJECT TO FLOODING WHEN WATER BEGINS
RISING.
