SEVERE WEATHER OUTLOOK
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DULUTH MN
930 AM CST THU JUN 25 1998

.THREAT...
THERE IS A SLIGHT RISK FOR SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS IN ALL OF NORTHEAST
MINNESOTA AND ALL OF NORTHWEST WISCONSIN TONIGHT.

DISCUSSION...
A LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM IN THE CENTRAL DAKOTAS WILL MOVE SLOWLY
EASTWARD TODAY AS A WARM FRONT IN IOWA SURGES NORTHWARD.
THUNDERSTORMS ARE EXPECTED TO ERUPT NORTH OF THE WARM FRONT LATER
THIS EVENING AS WARM AND HUMID AIR AT THE SURFACE INTERACTS WITH THE
WARM FRONT. THE ONLY LIMITING FACTOR WILL BE VERY WARM AIR IN THE
MID LEVELS OF THE ATMOSPHERE WHICH MAY SUPPRESS THE DEVELOPMENT OF
THUNDERSTORMS COMPLETELY OVERNIGHT. IF STORMS DEVELOP...THEY COULD
BECOME SEVERE IN A VERY SHORT PERIOD OF TIME.

SPOTTER ACTIVATION...
SKYWARN SPOTTER ACTIVATION MAY BE NEEDED BY LATE EVENING.
