THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN BIRMINGHAM HAS ISSUED A

* FLASH FLOOD WARNING FOR...
  BIBB COUNTY... IN CENTRAL ALABAMA
  WESTERN SHELBY COUNTY... IN CENTRAL ALABAMA

* UNTIL 920 AM CDT

* AT 615 AM... NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADAR SHOWED
  A LARGE CLUSTER OF THUNDERSTORMS WITH VERY HEAVY RAIN STREAMING
NORTHEASTWARD ACROSS MOST OF BIBB AND WESTERN SHELBY COUNTIES.  RADAR
HAS ESTIMATED THAT 4 TO 6 INCHES OF RAIN HAS OCCURRED OVER THE WARNED
AREAS SINCE MIDNIGHT.

THE BIBB COUNTY SHERIFF'S DEPARTMENT HAS REPORTED WATER COVERING
SEVERAL ROADS IN NORTHERN BIBB COUNTY NEAR WEST BLOCTON...STRANDING
SOME MOTORISTS.  AN ADDITIONAL ONE TO TWO INCHES OF RAIN MAY OCCUR OVER
THE WARNED AREA...INCREASING THE FLOODING THREAT.

AUTOMOBILES.


DO NOT DRIVE YOUR VEHICLE INTO AREAS WHERE WATER COVERS THE
ROADWAY. THE WATER DEPTH MAY BE TOO GREAT TO ALLOW YOUR CAR TO
CROSS SAFELY AND THE ROAD BENEATH MAY NOT BE INTACT. VEHICLES
CAUGHT IN RISING WATER SHOULD BE ABANDONED QUICKLY. IT ONLY TAKES
A FOOT OR TWO OF FLOWING WATER TO WASH MOST CARS AWAY. REMEMBER...
