BULLETIN - IMMEDIATE BROADCAST REQUESTED
FLOOD WARNING
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE ALBANY NY
935 PM EDT SUN JUN 14 1998

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE HAS EXTENDED THE FLOOD WARNING FOR
FULTON...MONTGOMERY AND SCHOHARIE COUNTIES UNTIL 7 AM MONDAY MORNING. 
DOPPLER RADAR CONTINUES TO SHOW BANDS OF RAIN PERSISTING OVER THESE
COUNTIES.  SEVERAL REPORTS OF FLOODED ROADWAYS AND STREAMS COMING
OUT OF THEIR BANKS HAVE BEEN RECEIVED.

RUNOFF WILL CONTINUE TO FEED INTO SMALL STREAMS AND CREEKS DURING
THE OVERNIGHT PERIOD AND WILL INCREASE THE LIKELIHOOD OF ADDITIONAL
FLOODING.

AS OF 8 PM SUNDAY EVENING APPROXIMATELY 3 TO 6 INCHES OF RAIN HAS
FALLEN OVER MUCH OF THESE COUNTIES SINCE THE RAIN BEGAN ON FRIDAY.

BE ESPECIALLY CAUTIOUS AT NIGHT WHEN IT IS HARDER TO RECOGNIZE THE
DANGERS OF FLOODS AND FLASH FLOODS. IF FLASH FLOODING IS OBSERVED...
ACT QUICKLY. MOVE UP TO ESCAPE FLOOD WATERS. DO NOT STAY IN AREAS
SUBJECT TO FLOODING WHEN WATER BEGINS RISING. IT IS VERY DIFFICULT
AT NIGHT TO TELL HOW MUCH WATER IS ON ROADS. MOTORISTS SHOULD NOT
DRIVE THROUGH WATER OF UNKNOWN DEPTH.
