THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN LAS VEGAS HAS ISSUED A
SEVERE THUNDERSTORM AND FLASH FLOOD WARNING
EFFECTIVE UNTIL  845 PM PST (945 PM MST)
FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING LOCATIONS......
 
IN NORTHWEST ARIZONA
 
   ...SOUTHERN MOHAVE COUNTY
 
AT 840 PM MST...A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM CONTINUED TO BE INDICATED
BY DOPPLER RADAR ABOUT 10 MILES EAST OF LAKE HAVASU. THE STORM
WAS MOVING SOUTHEAST AT 20 MPH.  THIS STORM WAS OVER RATHER REMOTE
AND ROUGH TERRAIN BUT SEVERAL ROADS DO RUN THROUGH THE AREA.
 
THIS STORM IS LIKELY CONTINUING TO PRODUCE LARGE HAIL...DAMAGING
WIND AND DEADLY LIGHTNING.  IN ADDITION...VERY HEAVY RAIN HAS
CONTINUED TO BE REPORTED BY RADAR ALONG THE EAST SLOPE OF THE
MOHAVE AND BILL WILLIAMS MOUNTAINS.  RAINFALL ESTIMATES OF 1 TO
2 INCHES PER HOUR ARE LIKELY CAUSING FLASH FLOODING OF AREA
WASHES INCLUDING THE CASTANEDA AND MOHAVE WASHES ABOVE THE BILL
WILLIAMS NATIONAL WILDLIFE REFUGE.
 
THIS IS A PARTICULARLY DANGEROUS STORM AND ANYONE IN THE AREA
SHOULD KEEP A CLOSE WATCH ON THE SKY.  AVOID CROSSING ANY
FLOODED ROADWAYS.  REMEMBER...TORNADOES CAN AND OCCASIONALLY
DO DEVELOP WITH THESE TYPE STORMS WITH LITTLE OR NO WARNING.
