THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN SALT LAKE CITY UT HAS ISSUED A
FLASH FLOOD/SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL 740 PM MDT
FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING LOCATION...

IN SOUTHWESTERN UTAH

   ...EASTERN WASHINGTON COUNTY
   ...EXTREME WESTERN KANE COUNTY 
 
AT 635 PM MDT...A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WAS INDICATED BY DOPPLER
RADAR 36 MILES NORTHEAST OF ST GEORGE OR 5 MILES WEST OF ZION
NATIONAL PARK MOVING NORTHEAST AT 25 MPH.

THIS STORM IS EXPECTED TO AFFECT ZION NATIONAL PARK AND THE
UPPER VIRGIN RIVER BASIN.  VERY HEAVY RAIN IS EXPECTED FROM
THIS STORM WITH AMOUNTS OF 1 INCH IN AN HOUR POSSIBLE.  AS A
RESULT OF THE INTENSE RAINFALL...THE VIRGIN RIVER AND IT'S
TRIBUTARIES ARE EXPECTED TO EXPERIENCE RAPID RISES.

THIS STORM IS EXPECTED TO PRODUCE HAIL UP TO THREE Q:UARTERS OF AN
INCH IN DIAMETER.
 
HEAVY THUNDERSTORM RAINS CAN QUICKLY FLOOD ROADS.  DO NOT ATTEMPT TO
DRIVE INTO AREAS WHERE WATER COVERS THE ROAD.
