THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN CHARLESTON HAS ISSUED A
FLASH FLOOD WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL  730 PM EDT
FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING LOCATION......
 
IN WEST CENTRAL WEST VIRGINIA
 
   ...SOUTHERN KANAWHA COUNTY
 
AT 527 PM EDT A STRONG THUNDERSTORM WITH TORRENTIAL RAINS WAS MOVING
THROUGH WESTERN KANAWHA COUNTY. THIS AREA HAS ALREADY SEEN HEAVY RAINS
FROM THE PAST TWO DAYS. THE ADDITIONAL RAINFALL IN EXCESS OF 1 INCH PER
HOUR WILL CAUSE MORE FLOODING. THE AREAS MOST LIKELY TO BE AFFECTED WILL
BE ALONG THE COAL RIVER.
 
THE STORM WAS NEAR ALUM CREEK AND MOVING SLOWLY TO THE SOUTH AT 5 MPH.
