000 TTAA00 KRDU 052325 RRA SVRRDU NCC001-060000- BULLETIN - IMMEDIATE BROADCAST REQUESTED SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE RALEIGH/DURHAM NC 623 PM EST WED MAR 5 1997 THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN RALEIGH/DURHAM HAS ISSUED A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL 700 PM EST FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING LOCATION... IN NORTH CENTRAL NORTH CAROLINA ...ALAMANCE COUNTY AT 625 PM A LINE OF SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS WAS MOVING EASTWARD AT 50 MPH FROM GUILFORD COUNTY INTO ALAMANCE COUNTY. THIS LINE OF STORMS WILL BE PASSING NEAR THE BURLINGTON AREA AROUND 645 PM. THESE STORMS HAVE ALREADY PRODUCED LARGE HAIL AND WIND DAMAGE IN GUILFORD COUNTY. PEOPLE SHOULD BE ESPECIALLY ALERT FOR LARGE HAIL AND DAMAGING WIND. FREQUENT LIGHTNING AND LOCALLY HEAVY RAIN CAN POSE A DANGER WITH ANY THUNDERSTORM. SEEK SHELTER IMMEDIATELY AND REPORT DAMAGE TO EMERGENCY OFFICIALS FOR RELAY TO THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE.
