000 TTAA00 KRDU 060112 RRA SVRRDU NCC101-127-060145- BULLETIN - IMMEDIATE BROADCAST REQUESTED SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE RALEIGH/DURHAM NC 809 PM EST WED MAR 5 1997 THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN RALEIGH/DURHAM HAS ISSUED A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL 845 PM EST FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING LOCATIONS... IN EAST CENTRAL NORTH CAROLINA ...NORTHERN JOHNSTON COUNTY IN NORTHEAST NORTH CAROLINA ...NASH COUNTY AT 808 PM WEATHER RADAR SHOWED THAT A LINE OF SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS WILL MOVE INTO NORTHERN JOHNSTON AND WESTERN NASH COUNTIES. THESE STORMS WERE MOVING EAST AROUND 50 MPH AND HAVE ALREADY PRODUCED MANY REPORTS OF WIND DAMAGE AND HAIL. THEY WILL MOVE THROUGH SPRING HOPE AND BAILEY BETWEEN 815 AND 830 PM. PEOPLE SHOULD BE ESPECIALLY ALERT FOR LARGE HAIL AND DAMAGING WIND. FREQUENT LIGHTNING AND LOCALLY HEAVY RAIN CAN POSE A DANGER WITH ANY THUNDERSTORM. SEEK SHELTER IMMEDIATELY AND REPORT DAMAGE TO8 EMERGENCY OFFICIALS FOR RELAY TO THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE.
