IN SOUTH CENTRAL NORTH CAROLINA ...ANSON COUNTY AT 214 PM WEATHER SERVICE RADAR SHOWED A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM 5 MILES SOUTHWEST OF WADESBORO IN ANSON COUNTY... ALONG HIGHWAY 109. THIS STORM WAS DRIFTING SLOWLY TOWARD THE SOUTHWEST. PEOPLE SHOULD BE ESPECIALLY ALERT FOR LARGE HAIL AND DAMAGING WIND. SCATTERED THUNDERSTORMS WILL DEVELOP THIS AFTERNOON OVER CENTRAL NORTH CAROLINA WITH THUNDERSTORMS MOST LIKELY IN AND NEAR THE FAYETTEVILLE AND GOLDSBORO AREAS. THE GREATEST THREAT FROM THESE STORMS WILL BE LIGHTNING AND HEAVY RAINS. HOWEVER ONE OR TWO OF THE STORMS COULD PRODUCE LOCALLY DAMAGING WINDS AND SMALL HAIL.
