000 TTAA00 KPIT 180347 FFWPIT OHC013-180800- BULLETIN - EAS ACTIVATION REQUESTED FLASH FLOOD WARNING NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE PITTSBURGH PA 1146 PM EDT SUN AUG 17 1997 THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN PITTSBURGH HAS ISSUED A FLASH FLOOD WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL 400 AM EDT FOR THE FOLLOWING LOCATION... IN EAST CENTRAL OHIO ...BELMONT COUNTY RAINFALL TOTALS THROUGHOUT SEVERAL SPOTS IN BELMONT COUNTY HAVE REACHED LEVELS HIGH ENOUGH TO CAUSE STREAMS AND CREEKS TO GO OUT OF THEIR BANKS. THE SOUTHERN PART OF THE COUNTY HAS RECEIVED THE MOST AMOUNT OF RAIN. ADDITIONAL RAIN INTO THE EARLY MORNING HOURS WILL CAUSE STREAMS AND CREEKS TO FLOOD. STREET AND BASEMENT FLOODING WILL ALSO OCCUR. BE CAREFUL AT NIGHT WHEbN IT IS HARDER TO RECOGNIZE THE DANGER OF FLOODS. IF YOU GET ANY INDICATION THAT FLOODS ARE APPROACHING...QUICKLY MOVE UP TO ESCAPE FLOOD WATERS. DO NOT STAY IN AREAS SUBJECT TO FLOODING WHEN WATER BEGINS RISING.
