SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL 1100 PM EDT
FOR THE PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING LOCATION...
 
IN SOUTHEAST NEW YORK
 
   ...PUTNAM COUNTY
 
AT 955 PM...NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED A LINE OF
SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS MOVING EAST AT 50 MPH THROUGH THE LOWER HUDSON
VALLEY. THESE STORMS WILL MOVE INTO THE AREA AND WILL PRODUCE WINDS IN
EXCESS OF 60 MPH...LARGE HAIL...DEADLY LIGHTNING...AND VERY HEAVY RAIN.
 
WHEN THUNDERSTORMS ARE OCCURRING...PEOPLE SHOULD MOVE INSIDE A
STRONG BUILDING.  DO NOT STAND BY WINDOWS.  DONT USE TELEPHONES
OR ELECTRICAL APPLIANCES UNLESS IN AN EMERGENCY UNTIL THE STORM
