SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL  230 PM EST
FOR THE PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING LOCATION...
 
IN SOUTHEAST NEW YORK
 
   ...NASSAU COUNTY
 
AND THE ADJACENT COASTAL WATERS
 
DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED A POSSIBLE SEVERE THUNDERSTORM ACROSS CENTRAL
QUEENS. THIS STORM IS MOVING SOUTHEAST AND WILL BE NEAR HICKSVILLE AND
WOODBURY BY 2:00 PM. IT WILL THEN MOVE SOUTHEAST TOWARDS FREEPORT AND
WANTAGH BY 2:15 PM. THIS STORM HAS A HISTORY OF PRODUCING HEAVY RAIN AND
WIND GUSTS BETWEEN 40 AND 50 MPH.
 
SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS PRODUCE DAMAGING WIND IN EXCESS OF 58
MPH...DESTRUCTIVE HAIL...DEADLY LIGHTNING...AND VERY HEAVY RAIN.
