000 TTAA00 KNYC 170429 FFWNYC NYC119-170830- BULLETIN - EAS ACTIVATION REQUESTED FLASH FLOOD WARNING NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE NEW YORK NY 1227 AM EDT SUN AUG 17 1997 THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN NEW YORK HAS ISSUED A FLASH FLOOD WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL 430 AM EDT FOR THE PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING LOCATION... IN SOUTHEAST NEW YORK ...NORTHERN WESTCHESTER COUNTY POLICE IN NORTHERN WESTECHESTER COUNTY REPORT UP TO 4 FEET OF WATER ON SOME ROADWAYS AS OF 1225 AM. FLASH FLOODING CONTINUES TO BE A STRONG POSSIBILITY THROUGH THE EARLY MORNING HOURS AS SCATTERED SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS MOVE THROUGH THE AREA. THIS INCLUDES FLOODING OF SMALL STREAMS AND CREEKS IN THE AREA. BE ESPECIALLY CAUTIOUS AT NIGHT WHEN IT IS HARDER TO RECOGNIZE THE DANGERS OF FLOODS AND FLASH FLOODS.
