THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN NEW YORK HAS ISSUED A
FLASH FLOOD WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL  845 PM EDT
FOR THE PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING LOCATION...

IN SOUTHEAST CONNECTICUT

   ...NORTHERN NEW LONDON COUNTY

VERY HEAVY RAIN HAVE CONTINUED OVER PORTIONS OF NORTHERN NEW LONDON
COUNTY OVER THE PAST COUPLE OF HOURS. THIS RAIN WAS CURRENTLY FALLING AT
A RATE OF NEARLY 3 INCHES PER HOUR. ALTHOUGH THE RIVERS AND STREAMS
SHOULD BE ABLE TO HANDLE THIS HEAVY RAIN EVENT...SIGNIFICANT STREET AND
HIGHWAY FLOODING IS BEGINNING TO OCCUR. THE HEAVY RAIN IS EXPECTED TO
COUNTINUE FOR AT LEAST A COUPLE MORE HOURS WITH LIGHTER RAINS EXPECTED
TO PREVAIL THROUGH THE BULK OF TONIGHT.


DO NOT DRIVE YOUR VEHICLE INTO AREAS WHERE THE WATER COVERS THE
ROADWAY.  THE WATER DEPTH MAY BE TOO GREAT TO ALLOW YOUR CAR TO
CROSS SAFELY.
