FLASH FLOOD WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL  915 AM CST
FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING LOCATIONS...
 
IN MIDDLE TENNESSEE
 
   ...CHEATHAM COUNTY...DAVIDSON COUNTY...MACON COUNTY
   ...ROBERTSON COUNTY...SUMNER COUNTY...TROUSDALE COUNTY

AT 6:10 DOPPLER RADAR AT NASHVILLE INDICATED A CLUSTER OF THUNDERSTORMS
MOVING EASTWARD ACROSS THE NASHVILLE METROPOLITAN AREA AT AROUND 35
MILES AN HOUR. THESE STORMS WERE PRODUCING RAINFALL AT THE RATE OF 1.5
INCHES PER HOUR...AND HAD DUMPED BETWEEN 2 AND 3 INCHES OF RAIN IN
WESTERN PORTIONS OF MIDDLE TENNESSEE EARLIER THIS MORNING. WITH THE
GROUND SATURATED FROM PREVIOUS RAINS...THESE AREAS ARE ESPECIALLY PRONE
TO FLASH FLOODING.
 
 
A FLASH FLOOD WARNING MEANS THAT FLOODING IS OCCURRING OR IS
IMMINENT.  MOST FLASH FLOOD DEATHS OCCUR IN AUTOMOBILES.  DO NOT
ATTEMPT TO CROSS BRIDGES...DIPS...OR LOW SPOTS IF WATER COVERS
THE ROADWAY.  NEVER TRY TO CROSS A FLOWING STREAM...EVEN A SMALL
ONE...ON FOOT.  TO ESCAPE RI~SING WATER MOVE UP TO HIGHER GROUND.
