000 TTAA00 KMOB 242204 RRA SVRMOB ALC097-242315- BULLETIN - IMMEDIATE BROADCAST REQUESTED SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE MOBILE AL 411 PM CST FRI JAN 24 1997 THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN MOBILE HAS ISSUED A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL 515 PM CST FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING LOCATION... IN SOUTHWEST ALABAMA ...MOBILE COUNTY AT 403 PM...A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WAS LOCATED JUST OFFSHORE...10 MILES SOUTH OF GRAND BAY ALABAMA. THE STORM WILL CONTINUE MOVING NORTHEAST AT 25 MPH AND WILL APPROACH GRAND BAY BY 415 PM AND PRICHARD BY 430 PM. THIS STORM IS LIKELY PRODUCING LARGE HAIL AND IS CAPABLE OF PRODUCING DAMAGING STRAIGHT LINE WINDS. SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS PRODUCE DAMAGING WIND IN EXCESS OF 55 MPH...DESTRUCTIVE HAIL...DEADLY LIGHTNING...AND VERY HEAVY RAIN. FOR YOUR PROTECTION MOVE TO AN INTERIOR ROOM ON THE LOWEST FLOOR OF YOUR HOME OR BUSINESS. HEAVY RAINS FLOOD ROADS QUICKLY SO DON'T DRIVE INTO AREAS WHERE WATER COVERS THE ROAD.
