FLZ063-066>078-502>504-142200- SOUTH FLORIDA HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE MIAMI FL 615 AM EST THU NOV 13 1997 ...COASTAL FLOODING POSSIBLE SOUTHWEST COAST AND KEYS... ...FLOODING FROM HEAVY RAINS POSSIBLE THROUGH NOON... ...RIP CURRENTS LIKELY ALONG THE SOUTHEAST COAST... ...SMALL CRAFT ADVISORY ALL SOUTH FLORIDA WATERS... STRONG SOUTHERLY FLOW AND A MOIST UNSTABLE AIR MASS WILL BE AFFECTING SOUTH FLORIDA TODAY. THUNDERSTORMS ARE EXPECTED TO FORM AND MOVE ACROSS THE SAME AREAS THIS MORNING. THE RESULTING HEAVY RAINFALL COULD CAUSE FLOODING. THE AREAS AFFECTED BY THESE THUNDERSTORMS AND HEAVY RAIN WILL SHIFT SLOWLY TOWARDS THE SOUTHEAST TODAY. PERSISTENT SOUTHWEST WINDS IN EXCESS OF 20 KNOTS MAY CAUSE TIDES TO RUN A FEW FEET HIGHER THAN NORMAL ALONG THE SOUTHWEST FLORIDA COAST AND LOWER KEYS. ELEVATIONS BELOW 4 FEET MAY FLOOD...ESPECIALLY AROUND HIGH TIDE THIS MORNING. HEAVY SURF WILL CAUSE MINOR BEACH EROSION ON EXPOSED SOUTHWEST FACING BEACHES ALONG COLLIERS COAST. RIP CURRENTS ARE LIKELY ALONG BOTH THE SOUTHEAST AND SOUTHWEST COASTS OF FLORIDA.
