000 TTAA00 KMEM 242244 RRA SVRMEM MSC145-242330- BULLETIN - IMMEDIATE BROADCAST REQUESTED SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE MEMPHIS TN 443 PM CST FRI JAN 24 1997 THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN MEMPHIS TN HAS ISSUED A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL 530 PM CST FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING LOCATION... IN NORTHEASTERN MISSISSIPPI ...UNION COUNTY AT 442 PM...A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WAS DETECTED BY DOPPLER RADAR NEAR ETTA IN WESTERN UNION COUNTY. SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS ALSO EXTENDED INTO LAFAYETTE COUNTY. THESE STORMS WERE MOVING EAST AT 40 MPH AND WILL AFFECT A LARGE PART OF UNION COUNTY INCLUDING NEW HARMONY...PINEDALE...INGOMAR AND NEW ALBANY SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS PRODUCE DAMAGING WIND IN EXCESS OF 58 MPH... DESTRUCTIVE HAIL...DEADLY LIGHTNING AND VERY HEAVY RAIN. FOR YOUR PROTECTION MOVE TO AN INTERIOR ROOM ON THE LOWEST FLOOR OF YOUR HOME OR BUSINESS.
