STRONG TO SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS HAVE DUMPED TORRENTIAL RAINS ACROSS
PARTS OF NORTHERN MISSISSIPPI AND SOUTHWEST TENNESSEE. AT 430
PM...DOPPLER RADAR SHOWED STRONG THUNDERSTORMS EXTENDING FROM THE
SOUTHWEST CORNER OF FAYETTE COUNTY ACROSS ASHLAND..NORTH OF RIPLEY
TO NEAR BOONEVILLE. THE STORMS WERE SHOWING VERY LITTLE MOVEMENT.

RADAR ESTIMATES INDICATE THAT AS MUCH AS 3 INCHES OF RAIN MAY HAVE
FALLEN IN THIS AREA IN THE LAST HOUR. THIS WILL RESULT IN FLOODING
OF LOW LYING AND POOR DRAINAGE AREAS.

.MOST DEATHS IN FLASH FLOODING OCCUR IN AUTOMOBILES. DO NOT ATTEMPT
TO CROSS BRIDGES...DIPS...OR LOW SPOTS IF WATER COVERS THE ROADWAY.
NEVER TRY TO CROSS A FLOWING STREAM...EVEN A SMALL ONE...ON FOOT.
