FLASH FLOOD WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL 800 PM CDT
FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING LOCATION...

IN NORTHEASTERN MISSISSIPPI

   ...ALCORN COUNTY
 
THUNDERSTORMS WITH VERY HEAVY RAINS HAVE BEEN OCCURRING IN ALCORN
COUNTY SINCE MID AFTERNOON. RADAR INDICATES THE HEAVIEST RAIN HAS
OCCURRED BETWEEN HIGHWAY 72 AND THE TOWN OF KOSSUTH WITH NEAR 5
INCHES OF RAIN IN THE PAST 3 HOURS. ADDITIONAL HEAVY RAIN HAS
OCCURRED OVER MUCH OF THE COUNTY WITH AMOUNTS OF 2 TO 3 INCHES
COMMON ALONG HIGHWAY 72 FROM JUST EAST OF WALNUT TO EAST OF CORINTH.

THE RAIN IS EXPECTED TO GRADUALLY DIMINISH TOWARDS SUNSET. FLOODING
FROM THESE HEAVY RAINS WILL CONTINUE FOR THE NEXT HOUR OR TWO.

.DO NOT DRIVE YOUR VEHICLE INTO AREAS WHERE THE WATER COVERS THE
ROADWAY. THE WATER DEPTH MAY BE TOO GREAT TO ALLOW YOUR CAR TO CROSS
SAFELY. VEHICLES CAUGHT IN RISING WATER SHOULD BE ABANDONED QUICKLY.
