THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN MIDLAND TX HAS ISSUED A
FLASH FLOOD WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL 200 AM CDT
FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING LOCATION...

IN WESTERN TEXAS

   ...NORTHERN BREWSTER COUNTY
 
AT 1056 PM CDT...A SLOW MOVING COMPLEX OF STORMS NEAR MARATHON HAS
PRODUCED RAINFALL AMOUNTS APPROACHING 2 TO 3 INCHES OVER THE LAST 2
HOURS.  THIS HEAVY RAINFALL HAS CAUSED SOME FLOODING IN THE CITY OF
MARATHON WITH A FEW ROADS COVERED BY A FOOT OF WATER.  RAINFALL
SHOULD BEGIN TO LIGHTEN UP OVER THE NEXT HOUR.  HOWEVER...EXPECT
RUNOFF ASSOCIATED WITH THESE STORMS TO CONTINUE OVER THE NEXT
SEVERAL HOURS INCREASING THE FLOODING POTENTIAL IN THIS
AREA...ESPECIALLY ALONG HIGHWAY 385 FIVE MILES SOUTH OF MARATHON.

BE ESPECIALLY CAUTIOUS AT NIGHT WHEN IT IS HARDER TO RECOGNIZE THE
DANGERS OF FLOODS AND FLASpH FLOODS. IF FLOODING IS OBSERVED...ACT
QUICKLY. MOVE UP TO ESCAPE FLOOD WATERS. DO NOT STAY IN AREAS
SUBJECT TO FLOODING WHEN WATER BEGINS RISING.
