000 TTAA00 KLBB 240117 FFWLBB TXC345-240315- BULLETIN...EAS ACTIVATION REQUESTED FLASH FLOOD WARNING NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE LUBBOCK TX 817 PM CDT FRI MAY 23 1997 THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN LUBBOCK TX HAS ISSUED A FLASH FLOOD WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL 1015 PM CDT FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING LOCATION... IN NORTHWESTERN TEXAS ...MOTLEY COUNTY AT 815 PM...NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADAR IN LUBBOCK SHOWED VERY STRONG THUNDERSTORMS OVER NORTHERN MOTLEY COUNTY BETWEEN FLOMOT AND NORTHFIELD. FLASH FLOODING IS LIKELY ALONG TURKEY CREEK AND THE NORTH PEASE RIVER DUE TO THESE STORMS AND THE SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS CLOSER TO QUITAQUE EARLIER THIS EVENING. BE ESPECIALLY CAUTIOUS AT NIGHT WHEN IT IS HARDER TO RECOGNIZE THE DANGERS OF FLOODS AND FLASH FLOODS. IF FLOODING IS OBSERVED...ACT QUICKLY. MOVE UP TO ESCAPE FLOOD WATERS. DO NOT STAY IN AREAS SUBJECT TO FLOODING WHEN WATER BEGINS RISING.
