000 TTAA00 KNEW 260327 RRA TORNEW MSC005-113-260400- BULLETIN - EAS ACTIVATION REQUESTED TORNADO WARNING NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE NEW ORLEANS LA 1024 PM CDT SAT OCT 25 1997 THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN NEW ORLEANS HAS ISSUED A TORNADO WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL 1100 PM CDT (1000 PM CST) FOR RESIDENTS IN THE FOLLOWING LOCATIONS... IN SOUTH MISSISSIPPI ...SOUTHEASTERN AMITE COUNTY...WESTERN PIKE COUNTY AT 1020 PM CDT...RADAR INDICATED A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM POSSIBLY PRODUCING A TORNADO 18 MILES SOUTHWEST OF MCCOMB OR NEAR HIGHWAY 584 EAST OF GILLSBURG. THIS STORM WAS MOVING TO THE NORTHEAST AT 30 MPH. THIS STORM WILL BE PASSING NEAR THE TOWNS OF MAGNOLIA AND FERNWOOD BEFORE 11 PM CDT. IF YOU ARE IN THE PPATH OF A TORNADO...GET UNDER A WORKBENCH OR PIECE OF STURDY FURNITURE. SEEK SHELTER IN AN INTERIOR ROOM SUCH AS A CLOSET ON THE LOWEST FLOOR.
