000 TTAA00 KNEW 292012 RRA SVRNEW LAC075-292045- BULLETIN - IMMEDIATE BROADCAST REQUESTED SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE NEW ORLEANS LA 211 PM CST SAT MAR 29 1997 THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN NEW ORLEANS HAS ISSUED A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL 245 PM CST FOR RESIDENTS IN THE FOLLOWING LOCATION... IN SOUTHEAST LOUISIANA ...SOUTHERN PLAQUEMINES PARISH AT 2:05 PM CST NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED A SEVRER THUDNERSTORM NEAR THE CENTTRAL JEFFERSON-PLAQUEMINES PARISH LINE ABOUT 6 MILES NORTHWEST OF MYRTLE GROVE. THE STORM WAS MOVING EAST-SOUTEAST AT 20 MPH. THE COMMUNITIES OF PHOENIX ..DAVANT AND POINT A LA HACHE ARE IN THE PATH OF THIS STORM. SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS PRODUCE DAMAGING WIND IN EXCESS OF 55 MPH...DESTRUCTIVE HAIL...DEADLY LIGHTNING...AND VERY HEAVY RAIN. FOR YOUR PROTECTION MOVE TO AN INTERIOR ROOM ON THE LOWEST FLOOR OF YOUR HOME OR BUSINESS. HEAVY RAINS FLOOD ROADS QUICKLY SO DON'T DRIVE INTO AREAS WHERE WATER COVERS THE ROAD.
