449 WUUS1 KNEW 130544 RRA SVRNEW LAC057-109-130615- BULLETIN - IMMEDIATE BROADCAST REQUESTED SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE NEW ORLEANS LA 1143 PM CST WED FEB 12 1997 THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN NEW ORLEANS HAS ISSUED A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL 1215 AM CST FOR RESIDENTS IN THE FOLLOWING LOCATIONS... IN SOUTHEAST LOUISIANA ...CENTRAL LAFOURCHE PARISH...EAST CENTRAL TERREBONNE PARISH AND THE ADJACENT COASTAL WATERS AT 1142 PM CST...RADAR INDICATED A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM NEAR HOUMA MOVING TO THE NORTHEAST AT 50 MPH. THIS STORM WILL LIKELY PRODUCE DAMAGING WINDS WHILE MOVING ACROSS HOUMA AND APPROACHING THE BAYOU BLUE AND LOCKPORT AREAS BEFORE 1215 AM. A TORNADO WATCH IS ALSO IN EFFECT FOR THE WARNED AREA. REMEMBER SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS CAN AND OCCASIONALLY DO PRODUCE TORNADOES WITH LITTLE OR NO ADVANCE WARNING. REMAIN CALM BUT BE ALERT TO RAPIDLY CHANGING WEATHER CONDITIONS.
