SOUTHWEST AND COASTAL MISSISSIPPI TODAY. THIS COMBINED WITH AN UPPER LEVEL DISTURBANCE APPROACHING FROM THE WEST WILL RESULT IN SCATTERED TO NUMEROUS THUNDERSTORMS ACROSS THE AREA. NUMEROUS THUNDERSTORMS ARE CURRENTLY ONGOING WEST OF THE MISSISSIPPI RIVER NEAR BATON ROUGE. THUNDERSTORMS SHOULD BEGIN TO DEVELOP ACROSS THE REMAINDER OF SOUTHEAST LOUISIANA..INCLUDING SLIDELL AND THE METROPOLITAN NEW ORLEANS AREA.. AND COASTAL MISSISSIPPI BY EARLY AFTERNOON.
