THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN NEW ORLEANS HAS ISSUED A
FLASH FLOOD WARNING    EFFECTIVE UNTIL  615 PM CDT
FOR RESIDENTS IN THE FOLLOWING LOCATION...
 
IN SOUTH MISSISSIPPI
 
   ...SOUTHERN HARRISON COUNTY
 
REPORTS HAVE BEEN RECEIVED FROM HARRISON COUNTY CIVIL DEFENSE THAT
RISING WATER IS OCCURRING IN PORTIONS OF LYMAN AND ORANGE GROVE IN
SOUTHERN HARRISON COUNTY MISSISSIPPI. THE WINGATE SUBDIVISON NEAR
DEDEAUX ROAD HAS REPORTED SEVERAL HOMES ARE THREATENED WITH FLOODING
AT IS TIME. STRONG THUNDERSTORMS HAVE PRODUCED TOW TO THREE INCHES
OF RAINFALL ACROSS THIS AREA IN THE LAST HOUR. THESE STORMS WERE
MOVING SOUTHWEST AT 10 TO 15 MPH AND SHOULD MOVE OUT OF THE AREA
WITHIN THE NEXT HOUR.
 
A FLASH FLOOD WARNING MEANS THAT FLOODING IS OCCURRING OR IS
IMMINENT.  MOST FLASH FLOOD DEATHS OCCUR IN AUTOMOBILES.  DO NOT
ATTEMPT TO CROSS BRIDGES...DIPS...OR LOW SPOTS IF WATER COVERS
THE ROADWAY.  NEVER TRY TO CROSS A FLOWING STREAM...EVEN A SMALL
ONE...ON FOOT.  TO ESCAPE RISING WATER MOVE UP TO HIGHER GROUND.
