A FLASH FLOOD WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL MIDNIGHT CDT FOR
RESIDENTS IN THE FOLLOWING LOCATION...
 
IN SOUTH MISSISSIPPI

LATEST NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADAR RAINFALL ESTIMATES
INDICATE 8 TO 10 INCHES OF RAINFALL HAS OCCURRED ACROSS EASTERN
JACKSON COUNTY...MAINLY EAST OF HIGHWAY 63...FROM HURRICANE DANNY
DURING THE LAST 24 HOURS. THE BULK OF THE RAINFALL HAS OCCURRED
OVER THE LAST 12 HOURS.
 
THE JACKSON COUNTY SHERIFFS OFFICE HAS REPORTED MANY IMPASSIBLE
ROADS...ESPECIALLY IN THE MOSS POINT AREA...WITH HOMES BEING
THREATENED. THE JACKSON COUNTY CIVIL DEFENSE DIRECTOR HAS DECLARED
A LOCAL EMERGENCY FOR SOUTHEAST SECTIONS OF THE COUNTY MAKING SANDBAGS
AVAILABLE TO AREA RESIDENTS. HE HAS ALSO REPORTED SOME HOMES FLOODED
IN WILDWOOD. DANNY IS MOVING SLOWLY NORTHEAST AND ADDITIONAL RAINS
OF 1 TO 3 INCHES ARE POSSIBLE THROUGH MIDNIGHT.
 
PLEASE CONSULT WITH STATE..COUNTY..AND LOCAL OFFICIALS FOR FURTHER
INFORMATION REGARDING ROAD CONDITIONS AND LOCAL EMERGENCY ASSISTANCE.
