THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN NEW ORLEANS HAS ISSUED A
FLASH FLOOD WARNING    EFFECTIVE UNTIL 1245 PM CDT
FOR RESIDENTS IN THE FOLLOWING LOCATIONS...
 
IN SOUTHEAST LOUISIANA
 
   ...EAST BATON ROUGE PARISH...IBERVILLE PARISH
   ...WEST BATON ROUGE PARISH
 
AT 945 AM RADAR SHOWED A LARGE AREA OF VERY HEAVY RAIN OVER THE
METROPOLITAN BATON ROUGE AREA EXTENDING SOUTHWEST INTO IBERVILLE PARISH.
DURING THE LAST HOUR OVER 2 INCHES OF RAIN HAS FALLEN AT THE BATON ROUGE
AIRPORT. SOME STREET FLOODING WAS REPORTED ON AIRLINE HIGHWAY IN BATON
ROUGE AROUND 935 AM CDT.
 
A FLASH FLOOD WARNING MEANS THAT FLOODING IS OCCURRING OR IS
IMMINENT.  MOST FLASH FLOOD DEATHS OCCUR IN AUTOMOBILES.  DO NOT
ATTEMPT TO CROSS BRIDGES...DIPS...OR LOW SPOTS IF WATER COVERS
THE ROADWAY.  NEVER TRY TO CROSS A FLOWING STREAM...EVEN A SMALL
ONE...ON FOOT.  TO ESCAPE RISING WATER MOVE UP TO HIGHER GROUND.
