IN SOUTHWEST LOUISIANA ...EASTERN CAMERON PARISH...WESTERN VERMILION PARISH AND ADJACENT COASTAL WATERS AT 505 PM WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM 5 MILES SOUTHWEST OF GUEYDAN IN WESTERN VERMILION PARISH. THIS STORM WAS MOVING TOWARD THE WEST AT 20 MPH. THOSE NEAR THE INTRACOASTAL WATERWAY FROM EASTERN CAMERON PARISH TO WESTERN VERMILION PARISH...AS WELL AS THOSE SOUTH OF LAKE ARTHUR AND SOUTHWEST OF GUEYDAN CAN EXPECT GUSTS GREATER THAN 55 MPH...LARGE HAIL...AND DANGEROUS LIGHTNING. IF YOU ARE CAUGHT OUTSIDE...SEEK SHELTER FROM THE WEATHER IN A STRONG BUILDING. DAMAGING WIND...LARGE HAIL...VERY HEAVY RAIN... AND DEADLY LIGHTNING ARE ALL POSSIBLE IN SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS.
