THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN FORT WORTH HAS ISSUED A
FLASH FLOOD WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL  930 PM CDT
FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING LOCATION...
 
IN NORTH CENTRAL TEXAS
 
   ...GRAYSON COUNTY
 
AT 435PM...NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE RADAR INDICATED THAT SCATTERED
THUNDERSTORMS OVER SHERMAN AND DENISON HAVE DROPPED SEVERAL INCHES OF
RAINFALL. CURRENT RAINFALL RATES OF 2 TO 3 INCHES PER HOUR WILL ADD TO
THE FLOODING HAZARD. THESE STORMS HAVE BEEN MOVING VERY LITTLE AND WILL
CONTINUE TO DROP RAINFALL IN AREAS THAT THE GROUND IS ALREADY SATURATED.
 
IN ADDITION...THE GRAYSON COUNTY SHERIFF IS REPORTING TWO FEET OF WATER
OVER SEVERAL ROADS BETWEEN SHERMAN AND DENISON. MORE RAINFALL WILL
OCCUR AND CONDITIONS WILL WORSEN AS THE AFTERNOON PROGRESSES.
 
DO NOT DRIVE YOUR VEHICLE INTO AREAS WHERE THE WATER COVERS THE
ROADWAY.  THE WATER DEPTH MAY BE TOO GREAT TO ALLOW YOUR CAR TO
CROSS SAFELY.  VEHICLES CAUGHT IN RISING WATER SHOULD BE
ABANDONED QUICKLY.  MOVE TO HIGHER GROUND.
 
MOST DEATHS IN FLASH FLOODING OCCUR IN AUTOMOBILES.  DO NOT
ATTEM
PT TO CROSS BRIDGES...DIPS...OR LOW SPOTS IF WATER COVERS
THE ROADWAY.  NEVER TRY TO CROSS A FLOWING STREAM...EVEN A
