FLASH FLOOD WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL  500 PM CDT
FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING LOCATIONS...
 
IN NORTH CENTRAL TEXAS
 
   ...DALLAS COUNTY...KAUFMAN COUNTY
 
SLOW-MOVING THUNDERSTORMS ACROSS DALLAS AND KAUFMAN COUNTY ARE PRODUCING
EXTREMELY HEAVY RAINS IN A SHORT PERIOD OF TIME OVER A SMALL AREA.  THE
STORMS ARE BECOMING ORIENTED ALONG AN EAST-WEST LINE THROUGH DALLAS AND
KAUFMAN COUNTIES...AND ARE MOVING EAST ALONG THE LINE.  AS A
RESULT...FLOODING OF LOW-LYING AND FLOOD-PRONE AREAS WILL OCCUR QUICKLY
FROM ABUNDANT RUN-OFF.  IN PARTICULAR...RESIDENTS OF SOUTHERN DALLAS AND
WESTERN KAUFMAN COUNTIES SHOULD BE ESPECIALLY CAUTIOUS FOR FLOODING.
 
MOST DEATHS IN FLASH FLOODING OCCUR IN AUTOMOBILES.  DO NOT
ATTEMPT TO CROSS BRIDGES...DIPS..p.OR LOW SPOTS IF WATER COVERS
THE ROADWAY.  NEVER TRY TO CROSS A FLOWING STREAM...EVEN A
SMALL ONE...ON FOOT.
