THE STORM PREDICTION CENTER IN NORMAN OKLAHOMA HAS ISSUED A
MODERATE RISK OF SEVERE WEATHER THIS AFTERNOON AND EVENING FOR
SOUTHWEST MINNESOTA...AND SECTIONS OF CENTRAL AND EASTERN
SOUTH DAKOTA. THE AREA OF MODERATE RISK WILL BE NORTH OF
INTERSTATE 90. ALSO THERE WILL BE A SLIGHT RISK OF SEVERE WEATHER
SOUTH OF INTERSTATE 90 IN SOUTH CENTRAL AND SOUTHEAST SOUTH
DAKOTA...NORTHWEST IOWA...AND EXTREME NORTHEAST NEBRASKA.

A WARM FRONT WILL CAUSE WARM...MOIST...AND UNSTABLE AIR IN NEBRASKA
AND IOWA TO MOVE NORTHWARD INTO SLIGHTLY COOLER AND DRIER AIR OVER
THE DAKOTAS AND MINNESOTA.  AS THE MOISTURE RETURNS TO THE NORTHERN
PLAINS...THUNDERSTORMS ARE EXPECTED TO DEVELOP THIS AFTERNOON IN
CENTRAL AND EASTERN SOUTH DAKOTA AND QUICKLY BECOME SEVERE NORTH
OF INTERSTATE 90. A FEW OF THE STORMS WILL LIKELY PRODUCE LARGE
HAIL AND DAMAGING WINDS WITH TORNADOES POSSIBLE. THE STORMS
SHOULD THEN MOVE EASTWARD WITH TIME INTO SOUTHWEST MINNESOTA AND
POSSIBLY INTO NORTHWEST IOWA BY LATE EVENING.
