000 TTAA00 KFAR 012040 FFWFAR MNC119-NDC035-012300- BULLETIN - EAS ACTIVATION REQUESTED FLASH FLOOD WARNING NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE EASTERN ND/GRAND FORKS ND 340 PM CDT TUE JUL 1 1997 THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN EASTERN ND/GRAND FORKS HAS ISSUED A FLASH FLOOD WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL 600 PM CDT FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING LOCATIONS... IN NORTHWEST MINNESOTA ...WESTERN POLK COUNTY IN NORTHEAST NORTH DAKOTA ...EASTERN GRAND FORKS COUNTY AT 335 PM CDT...A LINE OF STRONG THUNDERSTORMS EXTENDED FROM HONEYFORD...OR 20 MILE WEST OF GRAND FORKS...TO 40 MILES SOUTHEAST OF GRAND FORKS. THIS LINE WAS MOVING TO THE NORTH AT 25 MPH. THIS LINE OF STORMS WILL PRODUCE FROM 1 TO 3 INCHES OF RAIN IN AN HOUR. AS THIS STORM HAS MOVED NORTH...IT DROPPED 2 AND 3/4 INCHES OF RAIN IN A SHORT AMOUNT OF TIME OVER THE CITY OF HILLSBORO...WHICH IS 40 MILES SOUTH OF GRAND FORKS. THIS STORM IS ALSO CAUSING LOCALIZED STREET FLOODING AS IT PASSES OVER THE CITY OF GRAND FORKS. DO NOT DRIVE YOUR VEHICLE INTO AREAS WHERE THE WATER COVERS THE ROADWAY.
