THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN AUSTIN/SAN ANTONIO HAS ISSUED A
SEVERE THUNDERSTORM AND FLASH FLOOD WARNING
EFFECTIVE UNTIL  715 PM CDT
FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING LOCATION...
 
IN SOUTH CENTRAL TEXAS
 
   ...UVALDE COUNTY
 
AT 535 PM...RADAR INDICATED A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WITH LARGE HAIL
MOVING SOUTH ALONG HIGHWAY 55 AND THE NUECES RIVER TOWARD MONTEL.
 
MOVEMENT WAS SOUTH AT 10 MPH.
 
RADAR INDICATED THE STORM MAY BE PRODUCING HAIL OVER 1 INCH IN
DIAMETER AND RAINFALL NEAR 2 INCHES PER HOUR.
 
TRAVEL ON HIGHWAY 55 NORTH OF UVALDE IS DISCOURAGED.  VERY HEAVY
RAIN MAY BE PRODUCING FLOODING ON THIS ROUTE.
 
ALTHOUGH NO TORNADOES HAVE BEEN DETECTED WITH THIS STORM...A
TORNADO WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT.  SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS CAN AND
OCCASIONALLY DO PRODUCE TORNADOES WITH LITTLE OR NO ADVANCE WARNING
SO BE ON THE LOOKOUT.
 
PEOPLE IN THE PATH OF THIS STORM SHOULD BE ALERT TO THE POSSIBILITY
OF LARGE HAIL AND DAMAGING WINDS.  FREQUENT LIGHTNING AND LOCALLY
HEAVY RAIN CAN ALSO OCCUR WITH SEVERE THUNDERSTDORMS...FLOODING SMALL
STREAMS...LOW AREAS...AND LOW WATER CROSSINGS.
