000 TTAA00 KSAT 071709 FFWSAT TXC055-209-071915- BULLETIN - EAS ACTIVATION REQUESTED FLASH FLOOD WARNING NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE AUSTIN/SAN ANTONIO TX 1207 PM CDT SAT JUN 7 1997 THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN AUSTIN/SAN ANTONIO HAS ISSUED A FLASH FLOOD WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL 215 PM CDT FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING LOCATIONS... IN SOUTH CENTRAL TEXAS ...CALDWELL COUNTY...EASTERN HAYS COUNTY AT 12 NOON RADAR CONTINUED TO INDICATE A BAND OF SHOWERS WITH MODERATE TO OCCASIONALLY HEAVY RAIN EXTENDING FROM BUDA IN HAYS COUNTY TO LOCKHART TO FLATONIA TO HALLETTSVILLE. THE BAND OF SHOWERS WAS MOVING SLOWLY TO THE NORTH. RADAR INDICATED RAINFALL RATES OF 1\2 TO 1 INCH PER HOUR OVER EASTERN HAYS COUNTY. PARTS OF HAYS AND CALDWELL COUNTIES HAVE RECEIVED 3 TO 5 INCHES OF RAIN SINCE YESTERDAY SO ADDITIONAL RAINFALL WILL INCREASE THE FLOODING PROBLEMS IN HAYS AND CALDWELL COUNTIES. COUNTY OFFICIALS IN CALDWELL COUNTY REPORT NUMEROUS ROADS ARE CLOSED OR IlMPASSABLE. AVOID ALREADY FLOODED AREAS. TRAVELERS SHOULD NOT ATTEMPT TO CROSS FLOODED ROADS.
