SCATTERED SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS ARE EXPECTED OVER SOUTHEAST LOWER
MICHIGAN THIS AFTERNOON AND TONIGHT AS VERY UNSTABLE AIR CONTINUES TO
STREAM INTO THE REGION AHEAD OF A COLD FRONT. THE COLD FRONT WAS OVER
THE UPPER MISSISSIPPI VALLEY LATE THIS MORNING AND WILL MOVE INTO
WESTERN LOWER MICHIGAN SATURDAY MORNING. ISOLATED TO SCATTERED SEVERE
THUNDERSTORMS ARE POSSIBLE...ESPECIALLY LATE THIS AFTERNOON AND
EVENING. SPOTTER ACTIVATION MAY BE NECESSARY.

THESE STORMS ARE CAPABLE OF PRODUCING WIND GUSTS TO 60 MPH...HEAVY
DOWNPOURS AND HAIL TO 1/2 INCH IN DIAMETER. THE STORMS WILL ALSO MOVE TO
THE EAST AT 25 MPH.

...STRONG THUNDERSTORMS HEADING FOR SAGINAW COUNTY...

AT 1125 AM WEATHER SERVICE RADAR INDICATED A STRONG THUNDERSTORM
FROM NEAR ITHICA IN GRATIOT COUNTY EAST TO WESTERN SAGINAW COUNTY.
THE STRONGEST PART OF THE STORM WAS OVER EASTERN GRATIOT COUNTY.
THE STORM WAS MOVING EAST AT 30 MILES PER HOUR AND WILL AFFECT ST.
CHARLES...CHESANING BY 1145 AM AND BIRCH RUN AND FRANKENMUTH BY 1215
PM.

HALF INCH SIZE HAIL WAS REPORTED WITH THIS STORM EARLIER IN MONTCALM
COUNTY NEAR CARSON CITY.  THIS STORM WILL PRODUCE VERY HEAVY
RAINFALL ALONG WITH GUSTY WINDS TO 40 MILES AN HOUR.

PERSONS IN SAGINAW COUNTY SHOULD BE ALERT TO THIS APPROACHING STORM
AND MOVE INTO A SAFE SHELTER IF THREATENING CONDITIONS APPROACH.
