* AT 635 AM CDT...DODGE CITY DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED A SEVERE
  THUNDERSTORM 6 MILES WEST OF SHALLOW WATER MOVING EAST AT 25 MPH.

IF YOU ARE IN THE PATH OF THIS STORM...BE PREPARED FOR WINDS IN
EXCESS OF 55 MPH AND HAIL UP TO ONE INCH IN DIAMETER.  IF YOU ARE
CAUGHT OUTSIDE...MOVE TO A STURDY SHELTER IMMEDIATELY AND STAY AWAY

PROBLEM FOR THE FCST IS THE BREAK OUT OF SHOWERS OVER THE
WESTERN PORTIONS OF THE CWA...LATEST LDS SHOWED EVEN SOME
LTG OVER AREAS JUST TO THE NW OF THE CWA. 88D IS INDICATING
THAT THE SHOWERS WERE INCRSG IN AREAL CVRG AND MOVG GENERALLY
EWD. LOOKS LIKE THE NORTHERN PORTIONS OF THE CWA WILL HAVE
THE BEST CVRG FOR SHOWERS WHILE THE SOUTHERN HALF WILL SEE
SCT CVRG. 00Z 500MB ETA HTS/VORT SHOWED A VORT LOBE FROM
SW WY THU SE CO IN THE WAKE OF THE STRNGER SYSTEM THAT
PUSHED THROUGH THE NORTHERN PLAINS. THIS WEAKER SYSTEM OVER THE
ROCKIES APPEARS TO BE LIFTING SOME MID-LEVEL MSTR TO PRODUCE
RW AND ISOLD TRW. THE ETA HAS THIS SYSTEM WEAKENING THIS
MORNING SO THAT THE THREAT OF RAIN WILL END ACROSS THE CWA
BY THIS AFTERNOON.

THE CLOUDS FROM THIS MORNING AND LEFT OVER CLOUDS INTO THIS AFTN
WILL HAVE AN IMPACT ON THE TEMPS TODAY...MSTLY OVER AREAS
AROUND HYS...DDC...AND GCK. AREAS ARND P28 WILL LIKELY SEE
ONLY SOME SCT CLDS TODAY AND WILL HAVE THE WARMEST TEMPS.
WENT BELOW FWC GUIDANCE ON TEMPS TODAY DUE TO THE CLOUDS
BUT WENT WITH GUIDANCE TEMPS BEYOND TODAY.

NEXT PROBLM CONCERNS THE RETURN OF TSTMS LATER IN THE FCST
PERIOD AS THE AREA WILL BE UNDER A WEAK NW FLOW REGIME.
THE ETA AND AVN HAVE A BETTER DEPICTION OF MSTR RETURNING TO
THE REGION TUES AFTN AND NIGHT. IF THESE MODELS ARE CORRECT...
TSTMS COULD DVLP OVER THE EASTERN COLO ROCKIES TUESDAY AFTN
AND PUSH INTO THE WESTERN CWA TUESDAY NIGHT. WENT ONLY LOW POPS
ON THIS ONE BECAUSE OF CONCERNS ABOUT THE WEAK FLOW ALOFT AND THE
POSSIBILITY OF MSTR NOT RETURNING AS FAST AS THE MODELS DEPICT
AND/OR MSTR CNVRGC WILL BE WEAK AS WELL.
