611 WUUS1 KCRP 250354 RRA SVRCRP TXC057-250445- BULLETIN - IMMEDIATE BROADCAST REQUESTED SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE CORPUS CHRISTI TX 1052 PM CDT SAT MAY 24 1997 THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN CORPUS CHRISTI HAS ISSUED A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL 1145 PM CDT FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING COUNTY...... IN SOUTH CENTRAL TEXAS ...CALHOUN COUNTY A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WAS JUST WEST OF PORT LAVACA. MOVEMENT OF THE THUNDERSTORM WAS EAST AND SOUTHEAST AT 20 MPH. THIS STORM WILL AFFECT PORT LAVACA AND MAGNOLIA BEACH. LARGE HAIL IS LIKELY WITH THIS STORM. WHEN THUNDERSTORMS ARE OCCURRING...PEOPLE SHOULD MOVE INSIDE A STRONG BUILDING. DO NOT STAND BY WINDOWS. DO NOT USE TELEPHONES OR ELECTRICAL APPLIANCES UNLESS IN AN EMERGENCY UNTIL THE STORM HAS PASSED. MOTORISTS SHOULD NOT DRIVE INTO LOW WATER CROSSINGS.

K OF 36...PWS NEAR 1.75 AND CAPE OF 4900. THIS UNSTABLE ATMOSPHERE WILL KEEP TSRA GOING INTO THE NIGHT. ESPECIALLY NR VCT WHERE JUST NORTH OF THE COUNTY RAINS OF 2 TO 5 INCHES HAVE BEEN NOTED. THE TSRA NOW MOVING INTO THE CITY OF VCT WILL NEED TO UP POPS INTO THE 60 PERCENT AND INCLUDE LOCALLY HEAVY RAINFALL. AT THIS TIME DO NO FEEL A FFA NEEDED BECAUSE FLOODING WILL LIKELY BE CONFINED TO A COUNTY OR TWO. DISTURBANCE PRODUCING THESE STORMS WILL MOVE NORTH- EAST AFTER MIDNIGHT.
