000 TTAA00 KCHS 172358 RRA SVRCHS SCC019-035-180030- BULLETIN - IMMEDIATE BROADCAST REQUESTED SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE CHARLESTON SC 758 PM EDT TUE JUN 17 1997 THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN CHARLESTON HAS ISSUED A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL 830 PM EDT FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING LOCATIONS... IN SOUTH CAROLINA ...CHARLESTON COUNTY...DORCHESTER COUNTY AND THE ADJACENT COASTAL WATERS VERY STRONG THUNDERSTORMS WITH DAMAGING WINDS WERE MOVING QUICKLY ACROSS COLLETON COUNTY. THESE STORMS WERE APPROACHING JACKSONBORO AT 745 PM AND WILL BE EXPECTED TO GRADUALLY WEAKEN AS THEY MOVE INTO SOUTHERN DORCHESTER AND SOUTHERN CHARLESTON COUNTY. WINDS IN EXCESS OF 60 MPH ARE EXPECTED...HOWEVER THE RISK OF STRONG WINDS WILL BE PRIMARILY ALONG US ROUTE 17 THROUGH 820 PM INCLUDING PARKERS FERRY...RAVENEL AND HOLLYWOOD AS WELL AS THE SOUTHERN TIP OF DORCHESTER COUNTY NEAR RED TOP AND ASHLEY RIVER ROAD.
