THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN DENVER HAS ISSUED A FLASH FLOOD
WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL 300 AM MDT FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING
COUNTIES
IN NORTHEAST COLORADO
NORTHEASTERN MORGAN AND NORTHWESTERN WASHINGTON
INCLUDING THE FOLLOWING LOCATIONS
AKRON...ANTELOPE SPRINGS...BRUSH...HILLROSE...MIDWAY...
PREWITT RESERVOIR AND SNYDER
AT 1206 AM MDT...NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED
THUNDERSTORMS WITH TORRENTIAL RAIN OCCURRING BETWEEN AKRON AND
HILLROSE. NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE RADAR INDICATES AROUND 3 INCHES
OF RAIN HAS ALREADY FALLEN BETWEEN HILLROSE AND MESSEX IN LESS THAN
AN HOUR. THE STORMS PRODUCING THIS TORRENTIAL RAIN WERE MOVING
SOUTH AT 10 MPH.
A WEATHER SPOTTER AT HILLROSE ALSO REPORTED 3 INCHES OF RAIN IN THE
PAST 45 MINUTES.
EXCESSIVE RUNOFF FROM THIS STORM WILL CAUSE FLASH FLOODING OF SMALL
CREEKS AND STREAMS...ROADS AND HIGHWAYS...NORMALLY DRY WASHES
AND ARROYOS...AS WELL AS FARMLAND ALONG THE BANKS OF CREEKS AND
STREAMS.
A FLASH FLOOD WARNING MEANS THAT FLOODING IS IMMINENT OR OCCURRING.
IF YOU ARE IN THE WARNING AREA MOVE TO HIGHER GROUND IMMEDIATELY.
RESIDENTS LIVING ALONG STREAMS AND CREEKS SHOULD TAKE IMMEDIATE
PRECAUTIONS TO PROTECT LIFE AND PROPERTY. DO NOT ATTEMPT TO CROSS
SWIFTLY FLOWING WATERS OR WATERS OfF UNKNOWN DEPTH BY FOOT OR BY
AUTOMOBILE. IF YOUR VEHICLE STALLS, ABANDON IT IMMEDIATELY AND SEEK
HIGHER GROUND.

AT 1205 AM MDT A GUST FRONT WAS MOVING ACROSS SOUTHERN WELD COUNTY AND EXTENDED FROM SOUTH OF GREELEY TO NEAR HARDIN. THIS GUST FRONT WILL PRODUCE WINDS OF 20 TO 40 MPH WITH A FEW GUSTS TO 50 MPH POSSIBLE. THIS GUST FRONT WILL BE NEAR A DACONO TO HUDSON TO KEENESBURG LINE BY 1230 AM. PERSONS OVER SOUTHERN WELD COUNTY SHOULD BE PREPARED FOR A BRIEF PERIOD OF STRONG WINDS FOR THE NEXT 30 MINUTES AS THIS GUST FRONT MOVES ACROSS THE AREA. KLEYLA
