391 WUUS1 KBHM 280654 RRA SVRBHM ALC117-280745- BULLETIN - IMMEDIATE BROADCAST REQUESTED SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE BIRMINGHAM AL 1252 AM CST TUE JAN 28 1997 THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN BIRMINGHAM HAS ISSUED A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL 145 AM CST FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING LOCATION... IN CENTRAL ALABAMA ...SHELBY COUNTY AT 1251 AM CST...WEATHER RADAR SHOWED A LINE OF SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS MOVING OVER THE WEST PART OF SHELBY COUNTY. THE LINE OF STORMS WILL AFFECT MOST LOCATIONS ACROSS THE COUNTY. THE STORMS WERE MOVING EAST AT 30 TO 35 MILES AN HOUR. THE MAIN SEVERE WEATHER THREAT WITH THESE STORMS ARE DAMAGING WINDS. THESE STORMS HAVE A HISTORY OF PRODUCING TREE DAMAGE IN PARTS OF TUSCALOOSA COUNTY. SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS PRODUCE DAMAGING WIND IN EXCESS OF 55 MPH...DESTRUCTIVE HAIL...DEADLY LIGHTNING...AND VERY HEAVY RAIN.
