525 WUUS1 KABQ 310148 RRA SVRABQ NMC011-310250- BULLETIN - IMMEDIATE BROADCAST REQUESTED SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE ALBUQUERQUE NM 749 PM MDT FRI MAY 30 1997 THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN ALBUQUERQUE HAS ISSUED A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL 850 PM MDT FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING LOCATION... IN EAST CENTRAL NEW MEXICO ...WESTERN DE BACA COUNTY AT 745 PM MDT...A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WAS INDICATED BY DOPPLER RADAR 18 MILES NORTH NORTHWEST OF YESO MOVING SOUTH AT 34 MPH. THIS STORM IS EXPECTED TO REMAIN IN RURAL AREAS. PING PONG BALL SIZE HAIL WAS REPORTED WITH THIS STORM AS IT PASSED THROUGH SANTA ROSA AT AROUND 715 PM. THIS IS A DANGEROUS STORM. IF YOU ARE IN ITS PATH YOU SHOULD PREPARE FOR DAMAGING WIND IN EXCESS OF 55 MPH...LARGE HAIL...AND DEADLY LIGHTNING. PEOPLE OUTSIDE SHOULD MOVE TO A PLACE OF SAFETY...PREFERABLY INSIDE A STRONG BUILDING BUT STAY AWAY FROM WINDOWS.
