SEVERE THUNDERSTORM AND FLASH FLOOD WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL 210 PM
MDT FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING LOCATION...

IN EAST CENTRAL NEW MEXICO

   ...CURRY COUNTY
   ...QUAY COUNTY
 
AT 1240 PM...DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED SEVERAL SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS
DEVELOPING RAPIDLY FROM GLENRIO SOUTHWESTWARD TO NEAR GRADY.
MOVEMENT WAS TOWARD THE NORTHEAST AT 10 TO 15 MPH. IN ADDITION TO
LARGE HAIL...THESE STORMS WILL PRODUCE VERY HEAVY RAIN AND FLASH
FLOODING.

WHEN THUNDERSTORMS ARE OCCURRING...PEOPLE SHOULD MOVE INSIDE A
STRONG BUILDING. DO NOT STAND BY WINDOWS. DO NOT USE TELEPHONES OR
ELECTRICAL APPLIANCES UNLESS IN AN EMERGENCY UNTIL THE STORM HAS
PASSED. MOTORISTS SHOULD NOT DRIVE INTO LOW WATER CROSSINGS.
 
IT IS VERY DIFFICULT AT NIGHT TO TELL HOW MUCH WATER IS ON ROADS.
MOTORISTS SHOULD NOT DRIVE THROUGH WATER OF UNKNOWN DEPTH.
