THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN ALBUQUERQUE HAS ISSUED A
FLASH FLOOD WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL 1115 PM MDT
FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING LOCATIONS...
 
IN NORTHWEST NEW MEXICO
 
   ...EASTERN SAN JUAN COUNTY
 
STRONG THUNDERSTORMS WITH HEAVY RAINS MOVED ACROSS NORTHEASTERN
SAN JUAN COUNTY THIS AFTERNOON. RADAR ESTIMATED THAT ONE TO TWO
INCHES OF RAIN FELL WITH THESE STOMRS.
 
FLOODING HAS BEEN REPORTED ON COUNTY ROAD 7150.  THE STATE POLICE
REPORTED THAT SEVERAL COUNTY ROADS WERE WASHED-OUT.  GALLEGOS DRAW
AND MANY ARROYOS HAVE WATER FLOWING AND THIS WATER WILL MOVE
SOUTHWARD TOWARD CHACO CANYON.
 
BOTH LOCALIZED AND DISTANT HEAVY RAINFALL WILL CREATE DANGEROUS
FLOWS IN ARROYOS AND OVER LOW WATER CROSSINGS. DO NOT ATTEMPT TO
DRIVE THROUGH THESE WATERS. WATER IN ARROYOS MAY TRAVEL MANY MILES
AND TAKE HOURS TO REACH YOUR LOCATION FROM UPSTREAM RAIN AREAS.
