THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN ALBUQUERQUE HAS ISSUED A
FLASH FLOOD WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL 1115 PM MDT
FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING LOCATION...
 
IN NORTHWEST NEW MEXICO
 
   ...EASTERN SAN JUAN COUNTY
 
AT 9 PM RADAR SHOWED AN AREA OF SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS OVER EASTERN
SAN JUAN COUNTY. MOVEMENT OF THIS PRECIPITATION WAS NORTH AT 10 MPH.
THE HEAVIER RAIN AREA WAS GENERALLY EAST OF ROUTE 170 AND 371. THE
AREAS OF ARCHULETA...CARSON AND CHACO CANYON HAVE EXPERIENCED RAINFALL
ON THE ORDER OF 2 INCHES DURING THE EVENING.  ADDITIONAL RAIN WILL TRACK
OVER THIS SAME AREA CONTINUING THE CHANCE OF FLASH FLOODING.
 
REMEMBER...MOST FLASH FLOOD DEATHS OCCUR IN AUTOMOBILES. DO NOT
ATTEMPT TO CROSS BRIDGES...DIPS...OR LOW WATER CROSSINGS IF WATER
COVERS THE ROADWAY. NEVER TRY TO CROSS A FLOWING STREAM...EVEN A
SMALL ONE...ON FOOT. TO ESCAPE RISING WATER MOVE TO HIGHER GROUND.
DO NOT DRIVE AROUND BARRICADES.
